What was your Bitcoin moment?
When I first got into Bitcoin, I didn’t really understand it, I just thought it was a cool idea. I first invested in Bitcoin and other “cryptocurrencies” in 2021, when prices were on the rise. During this time I began learning about Bitcoin.
In 2022, when the price of Bitcoin and “cryptocurrencies” crashed, I noticed that I had an urge to sell the “cryptocurrencies” I was holding at the time, but not Bitcoin. So I explored why I felt this way.
I realized that the reason I felt safe holding Bitcoin is because of its decentralization. Even though its price was much lower, the network was ultimately the same and I trusted it would continue to grow, still do.
When it comes to the existing money, governance, etc. there is a lack of trust. Bitcoin’s properties/qualities (decentralization, immutability, transparency, scarcity, etc.) provide us with a tool to restore trust in society.
