I really, really love playing with 4 shotguns because it's so satisfying to just pump and shoot as you cruise through a level. However, what really kept me from trying out AR/automatic ballistics builds was that they just... sucked.
Honestly Ludlows were what I used to win against Balteus but even after unlocking the Scudder later in the game, it just... sucked *in comparison*. At least, in comparison to other options like missile builds (I used this to beat the Ibis series) and the hilarious shotgun builds. So it was either everything else was OP or the ARs and SMGs sucked. Yeah, it was the latter.
