The play they can invest in is how to extract as much money from the user base and/or their data. Which then is just reimplementing all the nefariousness that we are trying to not recreate here. Coming up with a different business model that doesn't do those things but can still appeal to investors is extremely hard. Getting investors to buy into it when the big wigs especially drive with such tunnel vision makes in even harder.",
