Not going to lie. I'm mostly here to shit post, because
1) my job is stressful, my life outside work is also stressful, and I come here to decompress
2) social media is shit at nuance, and most Big Thinks are Hella nuanced (props to M. K. Fain (npub1rvl…nhjx) for giving us Spinster, though. I'm not attacking Spinster when I say this. This is just the nature of internet communication, IMHO)
3) I really hate hostile, pointless hell threads where people screech over each other. And, realistically, it's easy to misconstrue something said on line. Or, in my case, post something flippantly that someone takes seriously.
4) given the facts of my work and life, I'm not likely to start any real activism. I am, however, often in a position to donate to Good Causes, so I still like reading about stuff that's actually happening.
