Just picked up a Dell Optiplex 780 from an 85 year old gentleman.
It still has Windows 7 on it, but something is broken. I replaced the CMOS battery with a new one onsite, as I was prepared and had one in my car. Still gives a message about the battery not having the correct voltage, so may be a problem with the motherboard.
Windows 7 attempts repairs, but then just loops and goes to the same screen again.
The owner wants to stay with Windows 7, despite me explaining politely several times in different ways that it is not likely to work well with using the computer primarily for online activities, which is pretty most of what he uses it for.
Has a 250GB WD Blue HDD, which tests as healthy. Only 4GB memory, but has a Core 2 Quad processor which was top of the line for the time this computer was released.
