This came up on Slashdot yesterday and it's quite funny: https://tech.slashdot.org/story/24/03/19/218216/modern-web-bloat-means-some-pages-load-21mb-of-data
The thing that is simply a gem IMO is when they use this phone targeted at low-income markets, which is, let's be honest, pretty bad even for a midranger — despite that you can still play a more or less modern game at 40 fps on it, but you can't use it to browse some of the websites that are quite popular in developed countries.
I think we can thank countries like India (Russia will slide into such a market quite soon too) just for the fact that they exist, that such devices get made for these markets — and it at least prevents web devs from going full-retard with their JS-framework madness
