End of the day, hyperbole aside, they are targeting algos. Specifically (here’s the dangerous part) lack of choice about algos. This is Nostr’s argument also.
Now “freedom tech” doesn’t have a voice yet to push back, and even if it did, freedom itself is tainted by moral panic … so chances are that “freedom to choose” won’t make it into any law… but if it did. Nostr wins.
I’m not saying more laws are better … but if this fear mongering moral panic gets traction, then Nostr (and freedom tech) might have a chance to come out on top.
Slim. But maybe.
