I got some really excellent new-to-me merino/cashmere sweaters from eBay, cheap. Felt like a queen. However I can't afford dry cleaning, so I wash them at home (using "merino wash" and the delicate cycle). The ecru one still looks great but is shedding soft fuzzy pills everywhere. The brown one has sadly shrunk, despite my best efforts. This must be why I keep returning to "tech merino" clothing, which is machine washable and doesn't shrink or shed.

My cats don't care. I just don't like having merino-cashmere sweater fluff all over everything.
