Like you, I have an autoimmune disorder which can flare from “I feel meh” to “if someone does not bring me an opiate, I will die”, I wear braces most of the time, and sometimes need mobilityaids like a cane. But I’ve never used the term disabled to describe myself. Quite possibly because of the semantics. But probably because I was a gymnast trained by Russian coaches, and working through the pain is a thing I’ve done since I was five. Tape it up, rub some dirt on it, you’ll be fine was the motto of my youth. 🤣
