And getting someone to jump the fence from nights/weekends to full-time, requires that funding, and usually requires some degree of confidence that that funding will be stable for some amount of time. That's human nature - we gotta pay bills/eat.
And so that's why I tend to hold that we can't blanket hold FOSS to "maintainership standards", unless we're offering up funding, up-front, to allow someone to make it their job. (wanted to provide context to my GP comment)
