Using trust scores as weights for voting, average score keeping, etc is the equivalent of the difficulty adjustment for bitcoin.

Stupidly simple idea, but no one has ever done it. Trying to build web of trust without using trust scores as weights is like trying to build bitcoin without the difficulty adjustment. You’re teased with tantalizing progress, but ultimate failure.

This is why using trust scores as weights is one of the essential features of the grapevine approach to WoT.
