Two simple facts about Nostr …
1. It’s an open protocol for an open network upon which ANYONE CAN BUILD ANY APP USING ANY VERSION OF THE PROTOCOL.
2. Typical “user authentication” is replaced by a more decentralized “event signing” architecture, in which ONCE AN EVENT IS PUBLISHED IT CAN NEVER BE UPDATED.
… simply means that OLD apps will “naturally” age out unless updated, and developers of CURRENT apps will ALWAYS have to support deprecated protocol layers.
I'll probably have to support both in my project for compatibility, but that's not ideal.
