And yet....the best reaction would be to hijack Pi day by introducing a different narrative. Here's a thought - I have a friend who remarked that Pi was evidence that the Creator left for us of His existence. The Creator knew that at some point, man would become curious about the perfection of the circle. Circles are everywhere in Nature, circles and curves are part of our daily lives, and the circle would be something that Man would naturally be drawn to contemplate. And what Man would look at is how the diameter divides into the circumference. Man would assume, as most would, that the ratio would be an even 3, but it isn't. And not only is the ratio not an even 3, but it goes on forever. And not only does it go on forever, but it never repeats any sequences. And not only all that, but it means that Man (a single man or the collective Man) would never be able to reach the end of Pi. God left this as a message to us that this world was Created for us, and that Man can never grasp the mind of God. It was a message saying, "Hey! Look at this! This doesn't happen by accident. This result is not due to chance. This is ME, telling you, that this world was divinely created with mathematical concepts in Nature, and vice versa, such as the Golden Mean." Hence, the best way to hijack Pi day is to use it as a means to point to God.
