Excellent point! While obviously a single individual should never have the ability to influence the course of a war this unilaterally Musk is still not a nation state unto his own. There would be little leverage or recourse available to him if Russia decided to use ASATs to remove Starlink from the equation. The threat to Musk's business interests seems the likeliest motivation. That said we can't completely discount that Musk's decision here might not be wholly rational either, given his established dedication to the twisted ideology of longtermism.
