We were reluctant to stop supporting the Eruv because we want families with young children to be able to participate fully in the Sabbath just as we could because of Boston's Eruv ("carry" includes "push", so without an Eruv, babies, diaper bags, etc. can't be easily transported on the Sabbath, leaving a parent, frankly more often than not the mother, stuck at home).
But we won't be complicit anymore.
