On the upside I've seen people power through Touhou with absolutely no experience with Touhou or Danmaku. Had a friend we jokingly got to play EoSD, he chose to play on lunatic and managed to actually clear it, then did a 1cc on normal to beat Flan. Took him nearly a year to do so, but it gives me hope to know it's possible.
Also fuck ZUN for how he treated the bomb system during Touhou 10 and 11. Power and Bombs being the same thing really hurts the flow of the games, specifically during bosses.
