i just think that a strong magnetic field is going to block radiation, that's the main reason i got it, not like tinfoil block but reduce the amount that gets into the toroid space around it
and yes, it has a toroidal field, there is a gap in the centre of it, you can tell when you move keys near it, they are pulled towards the centre of each side of the cylinder
