The fediverse is authentic. Despire trying to paint some corners as echo chambers, even there people have very different / nuanced opinions. Bizarrely, it's places like Twitter that become pure echo chambers despite the numbers. I personally think it's due to the IQ level required to understand and use the fediverse. That alone is a gatekeeper. Another factor is the bots and glowniggers that are able to push agendas in mass there. Fedi admins would quickly shut down such activity.
