I have fostered twice with the intention to adopt and it didn't work out either time. It kind of broke my heart and I stopped doing it. We've also talked about doing surrogacy. I have a friend who offered to carry for us (she's done it before and I trust her). I think we've decided to stay at three kids.
I'm not much help, but my empathy is off the charts for you. I know its not the same. I already have some kids. But it can be difficult. The foster to adopt route... just prepare your heart if you go that way. It was a very painful experience for me to twice think I'd be adopting a child then not. I know it's an honorable thing to do. It can just be really hard.
