May 19th, I landed on a plane in Fairbanks, AK. Exhausted after a full day of traveling, the task at hand was to bring my dad down to the states with his 12 year old dog, in a camper van RV.. On the flight, the sun was perpetually setting the entire time. This photo was taken at 11:45pm. It was immediately apparent to me, and a familiar weird feeling, I had arrived in the land of the midnight sun and my body was wildly rejecting the fact that it was midnight. I slept a restless sleep, with my sweatshirt covering my eyes as I contemplated what I had gotten myself into. I steeled myself and knew I would not be seeing darkness again for a week.
