Okay, this is a half formed thought but lemme crash out for a sec -
The "left" doesn't so much have "cancel culture" outside of the internet bubble as much as it has some modicum of moral cohesion. OF COURSE it looks "gatekept" when compared with the far right, they accept rapists, murderers and child traffickers as long as it consolidates power. Privileged people who have never been held accountable whine about being "cancelled" when they get the slightest feedback.
