I should add too (since I'm into old computer stuff), you probably have no idea just how many crusty old systems exist in colleges (physical or in emulation), double if they're connected to a network of some sort still like the infamous NetWare server in a wall (https://www.theregister.com/2001/04/12/missing_novell_server_discovered_after/)

Old UNIX boxes? Haha, oh man it was a sport with nerds I knew to leave an unpatched AIX 4.3 box open to the web and see how long it took for some skid to think it was some Ubuntu server to load a python and apt script on. Obscure OSes that only boomers use? There's an exploit for that (https://www.theregister.com/2018/02/06/openvms_vulnerability/) since nobody cared enough to poke it. Or better; how in 2016 some pentest team decided to look at released historic UNIX sources to compare code for exploits (https://rhinosecuritylabs.com/research/unix-nostalgia-aix-bug-hunting-part-2-bellmail-privilege-escalation-cve-2016-8972/).

I'm sure the only reason it doesn't happen more is nobody cared enough to do so.
