Old UNIX boxes? Haha, oh man it was a sport with nerds I knew to leave an unpatched AIX 4.3 box open to the web and see how long it took for some skid to think it was some Ubuntu server to load a python and apt script on. Obscure OSes that only boomers use? There's an exploit for that (https://www.theregister.com/2018/02/06/openvms_vulnerability/) since nobody cared enough to poke it. Or better; how in 2016 some pentest team decided to look at released historic UNIX sources to compare code for exploits (https://rhinosecuritylabs.com/research/unix-nostalgia-aix-bug-hunting-part-2-bellmail-privilege-escalation-cve-2016-8972/).
I'm sure the only reason it doesn't happen more is nobody cared enough to do so.

So the story with Mastodon and search is that Eugen (circa 2017) did not add it because it was used on Twitter by people to fuck with each other. This is also when Eugen was solely pandering to bubble wrapped retards. This began to change with the infamous hashtag trends saga which led to the idea guys being really, really, pissed off.

I like to call this problem "privacy through obscurity". Nobody on the fedi believes that anything they post can stay up forever, they are under the illusion that it gives them even more control over their online persona than Twitter does.

It wasn't barely, it was the full OS including Win32 except for a fatal flaw: software required a signing key to run (of which only Microsoft Office, IE, and some other whitelisted tools were) This could be defeated by initially an OS exploit, and later both a secure boot key leak (which turned out to come from some autist who hacked into MS years later) and the Switch Tegra exploit being ported to the Surface RT/2. It's a more functional port than the IA64 one for sure.
Windows 10 on ARM drops the signing requirement and has 32 bit Windows emulation. With 11, 64 bit was added into the OS as well so you can emulate x64 programs and maybe OpenGL even (I know WoA 10 did not do that, only D3D). You can in fact build native ARM64 binaries for Windows on ARM, but a lot of devs won't or don't care. Crucially, GCC does not exist, only LLVM and this is after several years of Windows on ARM.

Put it this way as well, of all the time I've seen the Akkoma project I have never seen the Akkoma project do anything notable to distinguish itself from Pleroma aside from custom emote reacts (which are backported into Pleroma and Soapbox thanks to popular demand).
As much as Rebased (the Soapbox fork of Pleroma) is critiqued as being "gleasonware" or dumbed down for Twitter users; Rebased with Soapbox has a few things going for it. Namely, Rebased is designed to be Pleroma modified somewhat to emulate Twitter's UI while adding in other "social network" features such as events and whatnot and that is pretty much where all the design goals go with it. While politics might have had something to do with the final decision, what is not disputed is that Alex wanted to go in one direction and the Pleroma guys wanted to go in another.
Akkoma has done nothing of the sort other than be talked about more in certain circles. That's it. In every way it's worse than Pleroma, and I see nothing but complaining from people who move from Pleroma to it.

Akkoma is a very "iffy" fork of Pleroma IMO. Namely it removes some features (like the shoutbox), but most notably the developers are notorious for breaking things Pleroma does just because they don't like the people using some feature, leading instance owners to have to try to "remove" the patches removing said features to even keep the instance going. It's a total mess compared to just running stock Pleroma. I've never been able to see anyone tell me anything good Akkoma does, and even custom emojis are now in Pleroma and the other main fork of it (Rebased/Soapbox).

Don't worry about trying to be Crysis (2007). Worry about having a distinct visual style that "sticks" in your mind. That's the trick there. Nobody uses the graphics hardware to do anything unique but either "ironically shit" graphics or the best you can do.

Blame that on most devs being fat neckbeards (physically or spiritually) when they make games, basing them off the same 4-5 Nintendo games or basises of influence.

I think a lot of devs forgot this IMO. They have so many bullshit forgettable Hollywood OSTs in video games these days and not some sick music that makes you feel like shooting a bunch of people online talking shit (in the video game of course).

I got blocked by a lot of retards back in the day. I got blocked or raged at by one of the Dusk devs, HG101, a bunch of shitty furry e-celebs, and more.
I miss the days before the blocklists I used to shit talk woke furries all the time. Now? I've seen how two faced furries are anyhow, aside from the fact that the biggest schizos are running block chain scripts to keep the mean words away.

There was barely any moderation, just pure 100% mob rule. Hell there wasn't much in the way of anti spam. There wasn't report flagging as much as there was literally trying to get your enemies to leave the web or kill themselves and this is why they got emboldened on Twitter. It was also a place to find niche fetishes and schizokino art and pure autism, and uniquely among big tech it was also the one site where firstname lastname accounts were the minority.
The apple ban was the final straw and that's probably when Verizon began to crack down, sold them as fast as possible, and went back to shilling shit phone plans and huffpo propaganda. If Verizon was smart they'd just ban irl porn. But they wanted to wash themselves of the problem they just bought and didn't care much otherwise.

Music too. A lot of people don't get this but old chiptune music was composed based on using the sound chip as an instrument or seeing how to get the most out of it. Even if it meant using tricks nobody would use today (for faux authenticity) such as making a SB16 do mod files (Epic Megagames did this a lot) or using the PCM channel to do samples (usually Japanese computer games).
New chiptune sounds soulless compared to say listening to some old PC98/x68k tunes or even Amiga mods.

This is more common if they're friends with said artist. I'm not kidding the furry scene is weird.
