Islam is a religion of hate, or of love, no further than Christianity or Judaism or Buddhism is. All religions are discourses on power, on public morality, and in that sense all religions can an have been used as tools for power. Likewise, all religions have positive aspects, like community, charity, care for each other (sometimes only within the faithful). In the end, religions, as laws, mean different things depending on the moment and the people and the interests behind of what's being said.
