In my flurry of NOSTR testing in different browsers and with different npubs I realized that I had 2 different npubs accidentally setup of the same. Same Nip-05, username, display, about, avatar, banner, etc. I had been flipping back and forth and posting and DMing and wondering why some things worked and others didn't.
Once I discovered my root issue, it made me realize how easy it would be to impersonate another user on NOSTR the same way phishing is done by using visibly similar domain names and mining a similar looking npub.
We need a decentralized ID verification(orange/blue/whatever checkmary) so that we can have confidence of who we're interacting with. There are many but I'm gravitating toward...
did:btc Bitcoin only but draft proposal so far
did:ion Bitcoin + IPFS dependency
Anyone else weigh in with an opinion on this?
