One thing that I think make sense is that when you fund a new channel, only use UTXOs that have the same cost basis(acquired at the same time, or maybe mixed to be equivelant). Of course if you fund a different channel with UTXOs with some other cost basis then you are back to needing to track which channel gets spent from. It's enough to make your head spin.
