I considered a lawn mowing robot business. Super cheap lawn service where we drop off a robot, turn it on, and swing back by to pick it up afterwards.
They have GPS built in which would help against theft but the edge detection wasn't there yet.
The best kind require a big setup installing a wire to tell it what the boundaries are. The ones that don't need that still suck with hills, flowerbeds, stumps, etc
