Besides, all the benefits you mention would hold for eCash directly on top of on-chain BTC as well!
Heretically one could ask: why bother with LN at all, and all the infrastrucutre and liquidity required to make it work?
Why can't just eCash serve as layer for payments, and BTC (on chain) as the layer for ultimate settlement?
