C (drooping butt) is clearly distinct from A (orthogonal c-s). But there are problems with B (rhomboid c-s). Its proportions vary wildly and I probably can’t retain it as a grouping.

I’ve collected data on about 16% of the axes I know about. Here’s a first test analys on proportions: how stocky seen from above VS how slender the cross-section, and labeled with Evert Baudou’s 1960 type designations.
