For this week's #FollowFriday I wanted to introduce a little side-project I've been working on this month. One of my hobbies is rock climbing, and I've been finding it difficult to keep up with rock climbing news since each individual outlet publishes their own news on their websites, and cross-posts to social media outlets that I don't ever check (mostly Instagram). Most of them also don't publish RSS feeds. I was missing things like IFSC (that's sport climbing) competition livestreams, or editions of *The Prescription*, a monthly post from the AMGA involving climbing accidents that I often learn things from.


Also there happened to be a dearth of climbing news on the fediverse, so I thought introducing some of these news outlets here would be neat.


So I did the only thing I knew how to do, I [spun up an ActivityPub enabled instance of NodeBB](https://news.crag.social/ ), set up some RSS feeds for those news sites, and waited for the content to roll in.
