Wholesale inventories rise more than expected in April to +0.2% M/M

Wholesale inventories in April rose more than expected to +0.2% M/M, reaching $896.3 billion, compared to a consensus estimate of -0.1% and a decrease of -0.4% in March. The inventories were down 1.6% from April 2023. The U.S. Census Bureau reported that the percentage change from February 2024 to March 2024 remained unchanged at -0.4%.
