energy drinks and artificial sweeteners are nephrotoxic, ie, they are damaging your kidneys
which ironically makes you more likely to develop type 2 diabetes
peripheral neuropathy caused by excess blood sugar due to insulin resistance - which can be caused by low functioning kidneys - is no joke... it causes cramps, double vision, muscle weakness, constant odd pains in your feet and hands
all of these things greatly diminish my ability to work at a computer and in general decrease my quality of life dramatically
