If the lightning node is on a clearnet IP, it has a consistent fingerprint to the relay so key rotation doesn't really help. The relay can see sends and with this design, would also see receives.

Sends are probably not a huge deal. A lot of people use proxies running in a VPS to connect to their nodes even in Monero land. The VPS, like the relay here, can likely fingerprint sends.

Receives on the other hand are not the same.

With this design, there is an additional leak for every received payment since receives also have to go through the relay too.

It's encrypted, so that's good. But it's a leak. And there are other targeted attacks on the lightning node to gather information about transactions being sent from and received to the node that create a wider surface area here than for Monero.

For the casual user, I would say your design is interesting nonetheless. Compared to Ark, which relies on coinjoins for privacy, this is competitive.

I don't discount it wholesale. I like this design. I will keep thinking about it.

Is there somewhere I can read more about your view that channel rebalancing is unnecessary? You have major confidence that a channel created through yourself will remain open for a very long time? Can you expand on why?
