Why did #Satoshi pick 100 million #Sats per #bitcoin ?
#askNostr
Tip :
#gold had one 100 units of spread
10 gm of gold were called a Taula ( in India) . Same as an Ashrafi in the middle East ... And a tenth of gram was called a Ratti - the weight of a tiny seed ..
10 gm = Taula of gold
1/10 gm = Ratti of gold ..
Thus the normal unit spread was 100 - which was good enough to meet the real world needs of those early days - say around 5000 years back ..
Satoshi added 1000 units on upper side and another 1000 on the lower - to meet the needs of modern finance
1000 Taula of gold = 10 Kilos = 1 Bitcoin
1/1000th of a Ratti = 1/10 milligaram = 1 #Sat
