People will be directed to use a form of "public transportation", which may include hiring electric cars, driverless or no, to take them places. There will be fewer of them than there are cars now, of course, and that transportation will also be expensive and more importantly, firmly under control of the government, with all movement of people restricted, surveilled and recorded.
