Your base combination is already a strong foundation used in regenerative gardening and research:Organic matter (e.g., compost, manure, plant residues, or food scraps) supplies carbon, some nitrogen, and a starting microbial population.
Biochar acts as a "sponge" with enormous surface area that improves soil structure, water retention, and nutrient-holding capacity (it prevents leaching and creates habitat for beneficial microbes).
