Today we continue to debunk myths about Lightning.
Many ignorant people appeal to the voltage documents, the attack by polling for the sender is mitigated using MMP and AMP, enabled by default in Zeus.
Even with Zeus we can mitigate the lack of privacy for the receiver through the LSP by using Invoice wrapping which hides the public keys of the receiving node.
The reality is that Chainalysis offers lightning service and they can't know anything we don't know. They can only know the node information generated through the invoices and correlate the payer information with KYC. But they still can't know which node the payer funds are coming from.
BOLT12 will substantially improve the recipient's privacy through blind routing.
The most obvious proof that chainanalysis can't do anything is that you can clean bitcoins from theft or coinjoins with Lightning and put it into an exchange.
It's all about understanding things and being able to use them to your advantage, everything has its use case.
Use cases:
- I have bitcoins coming from Coinjoins and I want to put them into an exchange without getting banned - Lightning.
- I want to send bitcoins privately so they don't know how many bitcoins I have (exchange) or can track me - Lightning

The theory is fine, Lightning has many possible vulnerabilities with respect to privacy but so does Monero, even Monero has been under attack and vulnerable for a long time.

Despite being a conspiracy theorist, or so I am told, I believe that man did go to the moon for several reasons.
- Images of the lunar landing sites (Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter). These images are from 2009, although we can argue that they were taken by the US and could be false.
- The Chinese Chang'e 2 probe managed to capture images of the Apollo landing sites in 2012. Although not at the same resolution as NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) images, these photos also showed the location of lunar modules and equipment left on the surface.
- Retroreflectors on the Moon. During the Apollo 11, 14 and 15 missions, astronauts left retroreflectors on the lunar surface. These devices allow pulses of laser light to be sent from the Earth to the Moon, and the retroreflector returns the light, allowing the distance between the Earth and the Moon to be measured with great precision. Some observatories and universities have conducted experiments using these retroreflectors, and the results are publicly available.
- Moon rock samples. The Apollo missions brought back 382 kilograms of lunar rocks, which have been analyzed in laboratories around the world, including institutions outside the U.S. These samples have been studied by independent scientists and have unique characteristics that differentiate them from terrestrial and meteorite rocks.
- International verification. It is not only the U.S. that has monitored these missions. I recently gave Mullvad Browser a try but it still doesn't convince me for my daily browser.
For those who don't know, Mullvad Browser is made in collaboration with the creators of Tor browser and Mullvad VPN.
And also collaborates the creator arkenfox (user.js) which is applied in LibreWolf (Thorin-Oakenpants).
Basically the Mullvad browser is the same as Tor, but without Tor, with all the advantages and disadvantages that this entails.
The main difference between Mullvad and LibreWolf is that Mullvad, like Tor starts in private browsing mode and LibreWolf does not, this has implications in daily use as described below.
The disadvantages I see with respect to LibreWolf:
- It does not support Firefox Containers
- Not being able to share session between tabs.
- You can't add exceptions for cookie clearing on closing
- No flatpak version.
The advantages:
- Better update system
- Financial and Tor team support (The browser is based on the Tor browser code)
So I'm sticking with LibreWolf for now.

How does it work?
Initial deposit: A customer deposits $1000 with the bank.
Mandatory reserve: If the bank is required to keep only 1% of deposits, it will keep $10 as a reserve.

Bitcoin follows liquidity cycles, Bitcoin follows power law, or perhaps liquidity follows a power law?
The three indicators I follow are:
The dollar liquidity of the system given by the formula:
$= WALCL - (WDTGAL + RRPONTSYD)
Where:
WALCL = The total assets of the Federal Reserve System.
WDTGAL = The General Account of the U.S. Treasury deposited at the Fed.
RRPONTSYD = Reverse repurchase agreements on Treasury securities sold by the Federal Reserve in reverse open market transactions.
WALCL if it grows gives liquidity to the dollar system because the Fed buys debt (among other things) and pours dollars into the system.
WDTGAL if it grows it detracts from the liquidity of the system because it is the money in the U.S. Treasury's general account that is immobilized at the Fed.
RRPONTSYD if it grows it takes liquidity out of the system as these are operations in which the Fed temporarily sells Treasury securities with an agreement to buy them back later by temporarily taking money out of circulation in exchange for Treasury securities.
The second indicator is the global money supply m2 given by the world's main central banks.
And the third indicator is MOVE, this index measures implied volatility in the US bond options market, similar to how the VIX index measures volatility in the stock market. When the MOVE index is high, it indicates that investors expect higher volatility in interest rates. This can lead to decreased liquidity in the bond market, as investors may become more cautious and less willing to buy or sell bonds in an uncertain environment. On the other hand, a low MOVE index suggests expectations of interest rate stability, which can increase liquidity by encouraging more buying and selling activity.
The perfect storm is for liquidity in the dollar system to soar, money supply m2 to increase and MOVE volatility to decrease.
As we can see m2 is rising, move volatility is falling and when rates fall it will fall even further, we just need the catalyst of dollar liquidity.
