Dear Nas fam,
I have a problem. My children are all obese. I have modeled great nutrition and exercise habits, and only have high quality foods at home. They find the junk elsewhere, eat it, then accuse me of being judgy and not loving them when I call them out.
WTF. Seriously. They SEE me use diet and exercise to maintain my weight, but then accuse me of "starving myself'...like I'M the one with bad habits. How are we supposed to parent this?!

I'm so tired of the threat, "If x, we will lose our democracy!" First, we don't have an actual democracy. We don't even have a proper democratic republic. In practice, it's mostly a corporatocracy now, rapidly evolving into a technocracy. And second, democracy sucks! See, and I live in rural Alaska... spent 6 years in a dry cabin FAR off the grid. Had a baby there without docs/nurses/midwife. I've lived pretty free. Nobody ever stopped me from rejecting all municipal services, or from hunting/fishing/foraging for subsistence. That's probably why you're chafing from government, and I'm willing to accept that they are imperfect but the most probable human social organization.

I don't think it's necessarily "because others are scared of responsibility." It could be as simple as a different perspective. For instance, I'm female, and quite aware of my physiological disadvantage. I recognize the necessity of entering a partnership with someone who can protect me if I'm threatened. So, maybe from this vantage point, I'm in a better position to see how alliances form by necessity, and from there extrapolate that govs are inevitable

Maybe I'm old enough to be your mom, I dunno, but I've been around long enough to know that people are not naturally as selfless and generous as would be needed for anarchy to exist at all, even briefly. This assumes that just because you and your friends don't form governments with militaries that the group over the ridge won't. Groups will ALWAYS form, leaders will ALWAYS emerge, and there will ALWAYS be conflict.
What you are suggesting will turn into "might makes right". And, eventually, people form tribes/gangs who will do/take whatever they desire because what are you gonna do about it?

Well, the most obvious problem you fail to see is how to you propose to field a military, and compel everyone who "uses" it to pay up? Without threat of violence, don't you think there will be free riders? Alternatively, you can forgo a military, and be annexed by a neighbor who has one. Assuming you have anything worth annexing.
Crime will still happen, so do we all need private security?What if you can't afford it? What if you have a fire but can't afford...

Again, with all its evil, statism is the alternative to globalism. Those are your realistic choices. Anarchy is not an option. Groups will always form, leaders will always emerge, and there will inevitably be conflict. That combo naturally evolves into a form of statism. Ideally, states would be small and not too powerful. I think centralization is more the problem than statism.

I wouldn't block you for pointing out the hypocrisy and evil of statism, but I would challenge you present a workable and REALISTICALLY IMPLEMENTABLE alternative.
Here's one perspective:
The state is the result of evolution of the tribe.
The tribe is the result of the evolution of the family.
As much as the family institution is vilified by progressives, family is a natural phenomenon. Replace family and the normal hierarchies that exist within that institution at your peril.
