I have the same thing with my home-made Angels of Death atm — really happy with the models / my improvised colour scheme etc, but it’s turned out I just straight up don’t like painting space marines 😭

Didn't get around to saying it yesterday but thank you thank you thank you to @Berit for running another fantastic #FediPaint – I've only done a few and I've already started pining for the next one.
Not going to lie, the standard across the board was a bit intimidating this time round – amazing work especially from @npub1wd8…jp0r and @npub12nh…8j7q, very happy to be included in that sort of company!

Not many pics this time but my Harlequins got an absolute kicking (14-2) from the boy’s Warpcoven — I managed to keep one Player holed up in a stronghold with a 3-point intel marker, but he even managed to block me on that. Rude (great game though)

Yesterday's #KillTeam was a total highlight: I took my Rogue Trader team out for the first time with their new rules, against the boy's new Angels of Death.
I had a really strong start, managing to take out 2/3 of his team by the end of turn 2 (with only one minor casualty in return). Turns out even without any of their specialists, two Space Marines are still perfectly capable of fucking up your day – the game ended with a single injured survivor on each side, and the last kill of turn 4 managed to put them ahead 9-8. Kid is still absolutely buzzing about it today 😜

First game of #KillTeam 2024 was really good (if slightly monochromatic). We played the first #Hivestorm mission with the boy's Scions trying to plant bombs and my Vespers (The Vengabugs) trying to defuse them. Really fun, and the updated rules are excellent – can't wait for our next game!

Decided that I was spending too much of my spare time doing illustrations for Lunchbox Stickers, so agreed with the child that I would do something different this year. Badges!

Last #KillTeam of the holidays — Lucy and the gang against some extremely droidy-looking Pathfinders that we had to quickly glue on bases before we started 😄
These felt like a really well-matched set of teams — everyone was squishy but capable of great violence. Did have to suggest that maybe the boy should redeploy some of his T’au at the top of the first turn, after it turned out I could hit 60% of his team with Space Ordinance…

Someone in my LGS group chat freaked everyone out by saying they'd heard GW were vaulting a bunch of the 'older' teams (Kommandoz and Veterans were mentioned) but when we tracked that back to its source it was some rando on facebook so that seems super unlikely. Wouldn't be surprised if there was something like that for compendium teams (which were always a bit of a bandage anyway)

We use TacOps but we just straight up pick 3, no fucking around with drawing cards or restricting to just security or whatever. And I think we've only ever used the extremely basic 'four objectives, capture them' scenario from the tutorial mission (our game at the weekend was the first where we tried anything other than long-edge deployments 😜)

Built a Brood Brothers #KillTeam that had been sitting on the shelf for a bit. Great models and I’m looking forward to playing with them, but also one of those teams where my next task was to go print off a bunch of generic Guard bodies to hopefully make up the specialists I couldn't build with just the kit.
