However, one might expect that a media player that supports downloading of media to local storage would support accessing that downloaded media while offline as basic functionality of a podcatcher.
We have WAY too many assumptions of always-on connectivity for doing some of the most basic things; like playing local media.
Sure, I can write a script that copies some .mp3s to a folder in local storage on my phone...

it's been my model since day #1. It's fun (but time consuming), listening to every song on every album, but you find some unexpected gems, like "Dogs" that are genuinely that band, but a different side of them and a quality tune, too.

@npub186h…h8sr Thanks, Nathan. A crazy idea just came to mind... Re: feed bloat, alongside comments about how this tag could be an asset to verify/authenticate an episode deep link, for example; could the "publisher" feed be leveraged/expanded?
If a show feed refs "up" to its publisher feed, could these links exist somehow within that pub feed?
It means that the host needs to update 2 feeds (show feed and publishr feed) with each new episode. Maybe not a great idea. Trying to spread the data around.

pv Android shows the main chapters' art but doesn't switch to the "toc"=false .gif or back. it also assumes Dat Beat is 0:00-2:57 (ok), but the next song starts at 2:51. This set of circumstances seems to cause the 'next track' button to not work, and re-starts the first chapter again. and again. :)

Podverse isn't acting on any of the chapter info until the third song. I have a mix of toc/non-toc chapters to bring in/out the dancing squirrel .gif. I also start super-quickly in the show.
Sovereign Feeds always starts with a show title chapter, and this time i switch to a 'song' chapter <1 second in.
PV gets stuck at 0:00 in chapters art, but Chapters tab is ok.

@npub1dft…ta3d Thanks for the heads-up. That first song is a bit of a stress test for the apps. @npub1vpk…092y 's Curiocaster kinda gets it right except for the toc=false stuff. The Split Kit kept restarting to the beginning of the show when I was playing the .mp3 to mark the split starts; until I completely backed out of TSK and reloaded the event. Then I could mark things as I'd like. I then manually edited the chapters file to add toc=false image switching to the dancing squirrel .gif. truefans works-ish.

Wavlake finally stepped up to using the PI API and says that they started submitting directly to the index about a week ago.
So, in addition to their FUBAR move in changing all of their GUIDs overnight, they apparently sorted that out as well as started auto-submission to the Index.

What happens when Bruce Wayne drops, say, a 700k boost inbound to my show during a song, and I need to send out 665k sats through a 500k pipe? Seems 2 req a web of these.

This is beautiful in it's simplicity. I never understood how the ring brought the balancing, but it was the manual routing of 1/2 of the channel size.
Which means... The Node operator needs to understand the arcane (but probably accurate) terminology in the tools available on say, a Raspiblitz, to do such a maneuver and the ongoing maintenance.
This is the best/only explanation I've seen of this. THANK YOU!

Depends how big of and how many channels you want to open and continuously balance. That was my breaking point. I could not keep my channel balanced and had near-zero outbound liquidity after not too long.
The balancing of channels is a thankless and relentless task.

Examples: Sheets of Rain added manually by me. No duplicate reported by PI. The fourth, when I attempted to add it again this morning, I got the expected "already exists in PI" response.

How frequently do you send to PI?
https://www.wavlake.com/feed/45da18f7-047f-49ae-970a-59d51c24bfd8 is at the top of the "New" list and I could add it just now manually.
If you all were doing this automatically at the same time or very soon after publishing that album in Wavlake, PI would have told me that I was attempting to add a duplicate feed.

Very few artists understand the difference between "Wavlake" and RSS.
Me? I'm a primate when it comes to the access to the album's RSS feed (thanks, great!) and podcastindex.org/add. Copy, paste, CAPCHA, Add.
I look forward to the next thing to do aftr @npub1g8a…ald3 and the PC2.0 team figure this out and we can check our show feeds (It's A Mood, etc.)

As the distro kit (cough), I keep an eye on new feeds at Wavlake and drop them into the index. I then go over to LNBeats to see the whole v4v-verse. Recently I've seen some older wavlake-hosted albums showing up at the top of LNBeats search that I didn't add/we're not new. Maybe updated with these poison guides? Cc: @npub1vpk…092y

@npub1ln5…xyw6 Weird. I was tethered to my other phone's cell data in France this afternoon (just to say Network A) and never challenged with a captcha. Just went straight to a green check. Working normally now on ZRH wifi as I get my French air traffic control strike hotel voucher for the night.

baby steps.
Everyone wants the plumbing to improve. There are SO many moving parts to this, and golly, we're less than three years in (maybe only ~2?) on our tremendous uptake with the lightning transactions.
We'd be basically nowhere without Alby.
It'll improve. All the right people are motivated in the right ways. It just takes time.

@npub1pwl…5qzr crazy idea or "need" that has been rattling around my head for a while. Contact Cards, like vCards?, the people and or services could include their node address details. Guid for the entity/person and a way to check, or at least call a well known decentralized service to get the current value address(es); LN, Nostr, whatever's next...
Reason; nodes may go defunct. E.g. I shut down my LN node and moved to Alby for now because I'm lazy. Sure the txns would fail, but how to redirect?
