Nice. Will consider adding support for this. Where I've found delegated keys on other networks to get extra complicated is with private messages - if you send a message to someone, which pubkey to use?, especially if there are multiple delegated pubkeys.

#Farcaster released their roadmap. The big news - They missed shipping hubs for Q4 of 2022 and pushed it into Q1 of 2023. Farcaster is not decentralized until they release hubs so it's important that they deliver on this.
Bitclout became a shitshow because they kept touting decentralization and failing to deliver (nearly 2 years now). I hope farcaster does not go the same way.

Yes, I'm thinking a new action type that has the pubkey and the hashed pubkey - it could be replaceable or accruable. Alternatively could be a profile value - only replaceable in that case.

I think POW for addresses is an ok spam measure, but probably better to attach and add POW to existing keys rather than baking the POW into the key itself. Also, it would be better to use a CPU optimized POW or else users will have to buy the POW from an ASIC farm.

I can get on board with that. Different relays can have different policies - one relay might allow anyone to respond to your post, another might refuse to accept responses from people you had marked as blocked, and you could choose which relay suits you better.
I was arguing against a protocol policy of respecting blocks across the whole network - that's something that is possible on other networks, but now that I think about it, it wouldn't be possible on Nostr.

The Twitter block also prevents accounts from replying, so it's a little stronger than a mute. I prefer the simple mute - it's more in line with free speech - people shouldn't get to decide who can reply to them in public.

Hmmm, this will keep happening every time a new field is added to the profile. All the clients won't upgrade simultaneously. Might be sensible for the protocol to store new profile metadata in separate event types rather than putting everything in 0.

PoW could be the solution - I'm just saying it's not wise to bake it into the key . . .

It would be nice if relays stayed free - it's a lot easier to get new users signed up if there is the cost is 0. The difference between 0 and a tiny cost is huge for adoption.

Yes, the game theory for clients is to add as many relays as possible. It'll need some work in order to scale. I prefer the farcaster hubs model as of rn

That's actually my stack exchange question - I think we might be thinking along similar lines.
So you can generate a BTC address from the key, but it might be risky to create a signature to retrieve that BTC - I think its a theoretical risk, and there's two differing opinions on it. I decided not to take the risk, but it would have made my integration a lot simpler.

I think it's just an MVP. I see an obvious need for a backbone of hubs. It's not going to scale with (nearly) every client connected to (nearly) every relay.
