Last Notes npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough Exactly! Totally agree. npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough One of the reasons I left Bitwarden was because of a bad tech support issue. As much as I wanted to stick with an open source solution, after the incident, I just couldn't stay with them any longer. I've moved to 1Password (not completely open source, of course), but the support team is excellent. npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough Ah, wait. I’ve actually not checked that. 🤦♂️ I am away from my house but will check this as soon as I get back home. Thanks for the idea! npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough I really, really like the new release but I can't seem to figure one issue I'm seeing. For some reason, out of nowhere, half of the screen (in Gnome) will change to a different color and the only way I can resolve the issue is to reboot. And the color sort of covers up everything on my screen. It's a really strange issue. And maybe it's a new feature in the latest Gnome 46? npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough On my desktop running [@ubuntu](https://ubuntu.social/@ubuntu ) 24.04, half of my screen just changed to a different color and I can't change it. It happened on my laptop, yesterday, as well. I'm sure it's some feature but I have no idea what's going on. Any ideas? https://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/112/485/676/447/712/489/original/9a4d42656f557424.png npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough I wouldn't call myself a developer (just someone that knows just enough to be dangerous) and have been wanting to help with an open source project for quite some time. Now that an unfortunate situation has given me a bit more free time, I think I'm going to join the Canonical/Ubuntu Open Documentation Academy (@npub1ttv…t5a7). I think learning how to write better documentation might be helpful in finding a new job and plus, I get to help a great project. npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough 👍 npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough The latest RC of Linux Lite uses Google Chrome as the default web browser? No, thank you. I was excited to give it a try until I read this. https://9to5linux.com/linux-lite-7-0-is-now-available-for-testing-based-on-ubuntu-24-04-lts-and-xfce-4-18 npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough This is excellent!! npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough Wow! Kubuntu 24.04 is looking really good! Oh, and, why isn't Kubuntu on Mastodon? 😀 https://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/112/339/788/912/471/258/original/d56aaf53893fe0a0.png npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough Okay, so, the new release of [@xubuntu](https://floss.social/@xubuntu) is really nice. I had issues with the previous version where when it would wake up from sleep, my mouse would no longer work and I would have to reboot the laptop. This appears to be fixed in this new 24.04 release. I really do love [@xfce](https://floss.social/@xfce). npub1qz49wg3ykguqdmlhpwt7rjhyaderjt5eehs0tadnydq6hlt93nzsd6qsrv Chad McCullough I really do like Vivaldi. So many great tools that are built right in. Unfortunately, it is a bit resource intensive and I don't have the hardware to handle it. We use ZenDesk and Jira where I work and they just don't run well on Vivaldi.
