It's Christmas, a holiday created and propagated for purely commercial purposes because if it wasn't, things would have looked better. Fix your settings. The paid Proton is great for everything, but if your concern is email, you may try Tutanota. Runbox, is way pricier than Proton. I've had GMX for several years, and only changed my password recently, as advised by GMX. GMX has always been my favourite, Tutanota next, and Proton, but Proton gets you set up for all other services
