Last Notes npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone This is "Type II Fun" but at least with a 2012 Mac as the dev environment, the code may be conservative enough to work even up to modern Macs? I've already had a working v0.1 (346 KB executable) that compiles & runs in Terminal for a few days. npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone I sent a feature request for that to support, but they didn't even answer my last message about voice prompts seemingly ignoring their own disable button. npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone Would be fun if I could get the speakers with lights in them to be awake like KITT whenever the intercom is active, but my JLab Go Party turns the lights off when the app is running, because it thinks it's a phone call. npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone Just me, vibe coding a Mac app (in Swift, with ChatGPT & probably going to have it go to war with Gemini LOL) to turn Bluetooth speakers with built-in mics into full-duplex intercoms/radios with any Mac. And maybe later, an Android app to connect to the Mac app & have it be the walkie-talkie. Done a bit of Kotlin Android app work that I have to confirm fixes a broken part of another project, so getting started in iOS development will come even later... Idea is to plug my Bluetooth speaker+mic in to the wall, next to a door or maybe even in an outside enclosure, then all people have to do is walk up to it & talk to me without pressing anything. Awhile ago, I made a ringdown phone (like you see between bullpens & dugouts, you just pick up one side & the other side instantly rings) with stock SIP adapter firmware & software, but would have to run wires to have either a corded phone or make a cordless handset wired to AC/DC adapter instead of battery+cradle outside. The ringdown works, at least, for me to have a SIP app always on me everywhere, and any of our old cordless phones spread throughout the house can ring my app just by pressing the button for a dial tone, or I can dial their extension from my app to ring them all at once. npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone Booth officiating team that is watching cameras auto-tracking every player & they can immediately spot foul or fake, then red card? npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone What's stopping you from stating your preference in Kind 0? AFAIK, no mainstream Nostr client will show your notes but hide your profile. npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone You don't think the version 0 SegWit (2017) length-extension bug is sufficiently rendered harmless by clients' length constraints? npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone I think unless Nostr switches from secp256k1 to ed25519, you probably need to burn your Nostr identities, otherwise there is no escape. https://openetr.org/bitcoin/check-balance npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone https://openetr.org/bitcoin/check-balance npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone Presumably you want it to say that everywhere except the focused log in screen? npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone I'm not posting it publicly, I'm trying to paste it here. Absolute fucking nightmare; I needed to sleep while my computer deleted well-over 100k files that I didn't expect to be needed from my package manager. Apparently my older version of libavif had rav1e enabled by default but the Portfile switching it to disabled by default, wasn't seen until near the end of cleanup. So, I use L1 exclusively. P.S. I feel like I'm probably doing more than my part for society already & any recyclables I cash in don't really even the karmic balance. In addition to my litter collection I described above, I'm also hunting/killing cockroaches in the street around midnight (first spotted this month), reporting vandalism, bulky illegal dumping, discharge of pollutants into storm water drains, stolen shopping carts, dead animals that may need testing for zoonoses, trespassers encamping on private property, moving reusable illegally-dumped items to better locations & putting them on Craigslist free... overwhelming trying to remember everything from on patrol. My city has a public reports website where everyone can see things everyone else reported (except 911 calls & some other exceptions), and it's rare that I see anyone else had reported something in my immediate neighborhood. I also have email alerts set on Craigslist & I almost never see neighbors posting their stuff as curb alerts, they just curb it & skip the alert. npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone Introducing #BTC2Free ā»ļøāæ People donate Bitcoin. I almost always fit the week's littered trash into my partly-filled kitchen trash bag & that's all the municipal collectors get in that bin (which has way too large a capacity for almost everyone, who got it by default/opt-out). npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone When I deactivated my X account last July, I discovered I could log right back in without TOTP 2FA. Sucks it took this for you realize anyone can derive a bitcoin address from virtually any data, no client necessary (and in fact this was done in 2023: https://primal.net/e/nevent1qqspkeev0047sw9tc28lf4vrqr7feaxr0q6688ck3aa09lc6j3h7apgpve4eq ) & then create a UTXO tied to that address. I read what the reviews actually say to determine if it's a good fit for me. If 2/6 this year are running Zeus with nodes separate from their phones, why not all-in-one if it's super-easy to do so? 1/6 says: "not syncing" - syncing with what? The more-substantive 1/6 says: "this is a scam project and should be delisted from play store the Wallet only Recieve funds and doesn't work or do anything, even to close the channel i can't so I'm stuck and unable to withdraw or do anything" - um WTF is that a Zeus problem or a Lightning problem Zeus had no warning/mitigation instruction for? The remaining 2/6 are 5-stars but vague; no description of their use cases, just reviews that read like ad copy. But yes, I voted that one you quoted from Dec 2025 as unhelpful. Not sure if the one right before that said "Use the custodial Wallet of Satoshi instead" because everything before that was true & they were really driven over to custodial, or if it was just made up, though I have had that happen on Android apps before. Didn't want to look too far back because at some point, the reviews are only about issues that were resolved in newer versions. npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone This giveaway ended May 8 & this was posted May 19. Onchain Zaps go to P2TR addresses natively but your npub/nsec can also become multiple p2pkh & p2wpkh addresses depending if you use even-y or odd-y. I made a whitepaper?/reference implementation with ChatGPT that it should be even-y, so one compressed WIF converted from the nsec will import as either the p2pkh version of your npub if you don't prefix the WIF, or the p2wpkh version if you prefix the import (in Electrum, at least) with p2wpkh: As I was working on it, initially the code that was being suggested was ambiguous & ended up giving both even-y & odd-y pubkey derivations (so you had 2 p2pkh+p2wpkh). But as the whitepaper explains, even-y is best, so it was narrowed to just output that. https://primal.net/e/naddr1qvzqqqr4gupzqtshhpkkjtyhnw6m0skah8msuqh8dw7rtzh6jkkxsy6sg7a7zrszqpykxctw94mk2tt5w4exuttp94hx7um5wgkhqatzd35kxtttv4uj66tww3hj6cfddehkutt5v9c8ymm0wskky6t5vdhkjm3dv9jxgun9wdej66tw94c8ymmy890y4y npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone https://primal.net/e/naddr1qvzqqqr4gupzqtshhpkkjtyhnw6m0skah8msuqh8dw7rtzh6jkkxsy6sg7a7zrszqpykxctw94mk2tt5w4exuttp94hx7um5wgkhqatzd35kxtttv4uj66tww3hj6cfddehkutt5v9c8ymm0wskky6t5vdhkjm3dv9jxgun9wdej66tw94c8ymmy890y4y npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone That year sounds familiar... oh https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5473719.0 npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone Can We Turn a Nostr Public Key Into a Non-Taproot Bitcoin Address In Prod? Academically (for people who think Taproot is fine), I would say if people transfer Zap sats to cold storage, they should dedicate one cold storage address for receiving all their coins they ever received at a public address that was associated with their identity (whether actual or same-pseudonym). That means all the Zap sats go there, all the p2pkh & p2wpkh tipping/donation address coins also go there, and then that cold storage address either already was separate from every other address by keeping it as a paper wallet or 1-private-key-only wallet file or at a minimum, frozen & labeled as cold storage within their main wallet. Any of those would be simpler than coin controlling the cold storage UTXOs out of every TX. Deleted/reposted to answer your second question in context with that last option, freezing it that way makes it that much easier to unfreeze & immediately add only the cold storage address to coin control if you ever want to spend the cold storage. Just make sure if you have a change output (I personally try to avoid spending a key until 100% of it goes to receiver with no change), it goes to a new change address that you label & then freeze (and burn/label as burned, the previous cold storage), because that's your new cold storage. npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone But it goes through somebody's services (have not been able to get it to work with the mobile server app Mandacaru), left Google Play review: Install on adopted SD (~19GB free) <-> internal storage Set Electrum server to 127.0.0.1:50001 non-secure (Floresta/Mandacaru) Flip the offline switch back & forth, server connects (no restart) Scan a xpub & a zpub from Electrum desktop "Cannot read property 'length' of undefined" when I try to look at my transactions list... Refreshing transactions of those imported watch wallets appears to host a game of "will it be no change, implausibly high balance, or lower balance vs what Electrum says?" --- Mandacaru & Electrum Android work together ok, at least when Mandacaru finally finishes getting all the filter transactions via user rescanning over and over and over again. And its coin control is limited to freezing addresses & UTXOs vs picking them in the send transaction flow. npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone Everything may be "risk" but almost all risk assessments, are actually FUD. npub19ctmsmtf9jtehddhctwmnacwqtnkh0p43tafttrgzdgy0wlppcpq50zf83 TheButterZone Flipping through my memory of dozens-hundreds of notes I read about this, I think some of the devs' intent seemed to be around letting people break out of the circular zapping back & forth to infinity, but there was also amenability to adding some friction, eg. mixing out.
