If a podcaster has ads and this then allows the end user to skip those, it can create issues for them with their sponsor. If the sponsor knows that a specific app makes that possible, they may exclude those from their stats for payment.
I’m not about the “ad-life,” but I can understand the issue that this may create for someone who is.

It all comes down to how far we want to go with this. Do we go full bore and create something that actually validates the ownership of the podcast or simply the control of the RSS feed? That’s the bigger question in my mind now.

This live episode listed on the index page was deleted from the old feed before setting up the 301 redirect. I watched to see if a PodPing went out to update the removal before doing my 301 in hopes it would avoid this being stuck on the index page like it is with my other show Bible Bytes. Not sure what else to do other than ask @nprofile…y5nd @nprofile…wsp3 or another dev to delete the listing entirely and let it get picked back up. The live items just don't go away when they are not present in the feed.

@nprofile…pnt8 I'm looking to move to self-hosting with a CDN and using SSP on Wordpress to generate my feed. They do not currently import the existing GUID in their plugin or provide a means to override it. They said it is planned but hasn't been added yet.

@nprofile…9ap7 just to verify. If i move my podcast and the GUID changes, my stats in OP3 will no longer continue on the original page because of the change. Correct? Let's say I go from a GUID of 30ed52a9-a11c-5235-bdfc-8e3379c6edde to eedae792-3e0d-508f-9903-5bf7930efe0a my stats would no longer contain those from the former guid? Just trying to make sure what will happen before I make a move.

They ALL have problems in 7th grade. The research suggests it is due to them all being in puberty at that time. @nprofile…m72c Fountain wallets will continue to work as they have. No hosting account is necessary to set one up in the app. Truefans isn't a "real" Lightning wallet at this time. They use "tokens" that are supposedly equivalent. Both apps can be topped up in the same way though, making it easy to get Sats/Tokens into them.

It pisses me off. I’m going to spin a Bitcoin and Lightning node back up on Umbrel and move things that way. The node on AlbyHub is apparently not reachable without any channels open. I’m fairly sure it is by design and they are getting kick backs from the LSP’s; I just can’t prove it.

@nprofile…mg8l Interesting. I just downloaded the latest episode of Shooting It Straight and it has the title, artist all populated correctly. the episode cover art is there as well. It also took the show notes and placed them into the comments tag as well. I upload at 128 kbps stereo so it just passes the file through to their AI and doesn't re-encode.

If you set your show settings to match that encoding rate (128 kbps mono, 128kbps stereo, or 192 kbps stere0) then it will not reencode the audio upon upload. 2. The ID3 tags get rewritten by the interface and will include the episode/show art and chapters you build in the web interface. 3. I agree on this one. 4. Do you mean the tags for episode numbers? 5. Very dangerous.

@nprofile…mg8l Sats are stored in the channels for easy movement of the funds. When a channel closes they have to be moved back to your on chain balance. Since this was a force close (not by me) they will have to sit and wait for the transactions to complete and it can take up to 14 days.

@nprofile…9a0n the minimum number of Sats that AlbyHub will allow you to open a channel with is 100,000. Well since their update force closed my channel and Sats are in limbo for 14 days I do not have a high enough on-chain balance to open any channels myself.
