I agree. Personally I'm excited to explore making nutzaps first class events (can be reacted to, replied to and serve as a sub thread on a post) instead of a mere reaction. Nutzaps feel a lot faster in my experience, and once you have clients that can redeem to NWC wallets users can be receiving nutzaps that are converted to self custody sats when they get online.

This is an ecash wallet stored on nostr (nip-60) and the UI is the work in progress chachi integration. NWC will work similarly with full wallet functionality but the UI is a bit simpler.

One issue I'm running into when implementing this is that you need access to the locked privkey to redeem the ecash.
If the ecash is locked to a key that you encrypt with NIP-44 and store on nostr you run into the issue of many (most?) extensions not implementing NIP-44. If the ecash is locked to your nostr key then you need that privkey.
This kinda sucks for web clients that don't allow nsec login unless I'm missing something.

It's been two months since I applied for an OpenSats grant for chachi and I haven't heard back so I guess no news is bad news :Sadge: Probably one of the reasons is that they've funded a few NIP-29 projects already (0xChat, Flotilla, groups, that one @npub1zfs…w445 was working on can't remember the name) and the field is a bit saturated. Or maybe my project sucks lol. I'll keep shipping anyway and find a way to make it sustainable, I'm bullish af on NIP-29 specially with goats like @npub149p…722q and @npub1wf4…dgh9 entering the game.
