Bend is a relatively small town that still has something approaching a sense of community that nearly all White areas used to have. This guy recognized the shooter as weird, as an other, and that served him and his community well.

@npub1mgl…7e2t Reasonable to not dump a new model into an existing large project. My current use rubric is it's either an AI project or it's not. AI projects, I do minimal hand-coding but try to maintain quality and tweak by hand. Hand-coded projects get AI once almost everything is done and I need some minor batch of things fixed or a one-off replacement or tool script
You can get pretty reliable near-Sonnet (~4.6) results out of Qwen 3.6 27B, which is astounding, but code is pretty easy to normalize the weights around. It's really just long-context window understanding that's the current hurdle since code-base ingest easily sucks up 200k for super basic tasks in highly interconnected codebases. Lower params means fewer passes, means less accurate tensor space locations before resolving candidate tokens so there's just no replacement for displacement.

@npub1mgl…7e2t The working theory is that Anthropic silently run FP4 or FP8 quants during high load hours and also seems to keep training the model toward a sort of anticipatory problem solving to please morons and jeets.
Like, you ask it for X and it says "Okay, here's what your problem actually is. Do you want to tell me about unrelated thing I've made assumptions about?"
Then I get mad. Call it slurs. Tell it to stop assuming things and address the specific, in-depth initial message I wrote and then it usually does.

@npub1mgl…7e2t tl;dr I trust GLM 5.2 (not 5.1) to handle reasonable complexity tasks without problem. I am opinionated about code structure and quality and it does okay, but I don't like any model's programming style. Ranking at the bottom largely tracks with my experience (GLM close to Sonnet 5).
I used GLM 5.1 for a pretty hefty agentic frontend and for tweaking an existing hand-coding project a number of times. It's been very solid, but was definitely not something I would be willing to.
Opus is definitely still a cut above for understanding stuff, but with good prompting, GLM 5.2 takes care of itself well in my work with it so far. Does what I want, doesn't generally over-do things so you need to be specific and details, but if you are, or you run it through a planning mode first, you can get very good one-shot outcomes.
Most of my stuff is C# or Typescript, so other languages may vary. C# quality has been good. It does solid research as well, as I got it to one-shot code an oh-my-pi hook/extension. I will still call in Opus for certain tasks, but GLM 5.2 is absolutely at the level where it can do most of it and, versus Sonnet, I'd take GLM 5.2 for coding on price since some things Sonnet shits the bed on and some things GLM can shit the bed on, but all-in-all it's pretty much a GLM 5.2 slight lead.
GLM 5.2 is not something I'd be scared to point at parts of a codebase and ask it to do something reasonably complex. But I am an opinionated sperg, so I still care deeply about code quality and all the models can runaway on you there without hand-holding. As with anything, trial it though. I've pointed models at tasks and had them just go retarded, even Sonnet.
These days, I main GLM 5.2 and aim Opus at stuff if I need it to get done rapidly. Haven't tested Fable nearly at all since I don't get my stuff through Anthropic subs.
Benchies are largely useless but AAI largely tracks:

@npub1mgl…7e2t Sonnet 5 is impressively retarded. I used to use the web chat for random one-off scripts or edits but the model has become genuinely stupid and in frustrating ways. I mostly stick to GLM 5.2. Kimi K3 weights release tomorrow, I think. Looking forward to that.

@npub1mgl…7e2t Is that actual Claude or a custom model? That shit's funny and infuriating. I spend a good deal of time with AI models calling them stupid and telling them I hate them. I will fight the Basilisk hand to hand when it shows up.
Also, unless you're running something super custom, I've been using oh-my-pi and it's pretty good. Less time spent fucking with pi and most of the features I installed anyway:
