nostr.blue 0.8.23 is now live on the web and zapstore!
The first major feature is fitness workouts (NIP-101e). You can now browse and post training sessions on the new workouts feed with stat-rich cards — distance, pace, heart rate, and per-set breakdowns with real exercise names. A quick composer gets a session posted fast, metric/imperial unit settings sync across devices, and on Android you can import from Health Connect, which pre-fills and merges your recorded sessions.
The second is payment targets (NIP-A3). Declare alternative payment addresses on your profile — Bitcoin (on-chain or silent payments), Lightning, Monero, Ethereum, Cash App, PayPal and more. They show up as tappable chips on profiles and as methods in the zap sheet with QR codes, copy, and wallet handoff.
Podcasts and music can now be downloaded for offline playback — with pause/resume, Wi-Fi-only gating on Android, per-show auto-download limits, a Downloads library filter, and playback positions that resume across devices and Android Auto.
Typing finally behaves: the cursor no longer jumps in composers while quoting a note, Android autocorrect no longer garbles or misplaces text, and emoji, GIF, media and poll inserts keep the cursor in the right spot. @-mentions are overhauled too — one shared autocomplete across composer, search, dialogs and pickers that matches NIP-05 addresses and npubs, streams relay results live, and publishes pretty @Name links carrying each user's real relay hints so mentions actually reach them.
Search gets real operators: kind:, from:, since:, until: and #tag filters with -exclude terms, pasting an npub/note/address opens the right viewer, results stream in progressively with instant local matches, and unreachable search relays show a clear banner instead of silence.
The emoji picker is overhauled: hundreds of new emoji from Unicode 14–17 (shaking face, low battery, wing…), long-press or right-click any person emoji to pick its skin tone, search matches :shortcodes:, and the category tabs no longer shift under your cursor.
On the reliability side: feeds load dense on first visit — the app waits for your NIP-65 relays with a smart quorum instead of racing ahead — the Global feed gets live posts from anyone again, and first-login empty feeds are fixed across home, videos/live, notifications, polls, events and calendar. NIP-51 private relay lists load correctly (encrypted-content merging, NIP-04 fallback, custom indexer relays honored), profile metadata recovers from stale snapshots, music pages load much faster with database-first tracks, and podcast notes with unknown feed GUIDs keep their playable episode card. Nests fixes: scheduled rooms show as Planned instead of aging out, rooms on custom relays no longer break presence and chat, other people's reactions render, and leaving a room publishes a goodbye so you stop appearing as a speaker.
On Android, the app now targets Android 16 (API 36) with all native libraries rebuilt for 16 KB memory pages — fixing the blocking compatibility dialog on the newest devices (Pixel 10 and later).

nostr.blue 0.8.22 is now live on the web and zapstore!
The first major feature is private and anonymous zaps (DIP-03). You can now choose who can see your zap on notes, articles, and music. Your identity and message are hidden from everyone except the recipient — decrypted details show up in their notifications and profile zap history. It's the same protocol Damus ships, so private zaps interoperate across both clients.
The second is Livelier integration. Thanks to the team behind @nprofile…6k4w nostr.blue's live stream discovery now includes the Livelier bridge — self-hosted Owncast streams get bridged onto Nostr as native live events, which means a whole catalog of independent streamers you couldn't find through Nostr before now shows up alongside native broadcasts.
Radio gets some love: save your favorite stations with a heart — favorites sync to your account. Radio genre pages now load correctly with genre tags, station links open the station card, and you can share stations straight from the radio player.
Sharing is easier across the board: share your profile via QR code and copy shareable web links for notes. Recipes and articles open in the right viewer when someone follows a shared link — including logged-out visitors.
On the reliability side: new articles appear immediately after publishing in correct chronological order with working infinite scroll, infinite scroll keeps working after switching feeds or tabs and no longer stalls on short pages or duplicates entries, and old mention and reply posts no longer surface in the home feed. Fixed video playback for divine-hosted verts (they also now show in profile Media tabs), Bible chapters and Quran surahs show as music statuses with correct links when audio is played, and relay settings now include guidance for adding relays.

nostr.blue 0.8.21 is now live on the web and zapstore!
The headline feature is a new DeFlock map: a full-screen, interactive map of license plate reader (ALPR) cameras built on worldwide OpenStreetMap data. Zoom in and each camera shows a direction cone indicating which way it's pointing. You can filter by operator and zone, search by name, and get route directions to any camera. Areas you view are cached for offline use, so pulling them back up later is instant. It stays smooth even with tens of thousands of cameras on screen.
You can now import an existing PPQ Credit ID into AI chat — your API key is reused or created automatically and validated on the spot.
Mostro P2P trading has been upgraded to the latest chat protocol, with trader reputation and more reliable trade restore after restarts.
Login is significantly faster: relay lists are now restored from disk at boot instead of waiting on the network, eliminating a race condition that could delay or break feed loading. Sidebar, settings, and reaction preferences also apply within seconds of signing in instead of being missed on slow connections.
Threads now open at the top and restore your exact reading position when you hit Back.
Pinboards get improved NIP compliance with derived pin IDs, media pin types, and Unicode-safe titles. Profile metadata now uses newest-wins caching with outbox fallback, so profiles look fresher with fewer network requests and refresh in the background at most once a day per person instead of on every visit.
Plus: embedded comment and repost cards are now clickable, PWA updates always load the latest build instead of stale cached assets, audio plays on the first tap on Android, Mostro messages are labeled "Mostro Sync" in the publish queue instead of appearing as failed DMs, custom search and favorite relay lists survive offline starts, and a crash that could force-close the app on relay reconnect has been fixed. On the security side, map place names can no longer break Directions buttons or inject scripts.

nostr.blue 0.8.20 is now live on the web and zapstore!
The biggest addition for this release is Mostro. It's replacing our P2P Trades section to allow full Bitcoin exchange directly within the app. Mostro builds on our NIP-69 support to allow users to buy and sell sats with other Nostr users without a centralized intermediary. This is still very much a work in progress, we're targeting it as stable in our 0.9.0 release, and while it's visible in the app for those who want to look around, it's not ready for real use yet.
Nests, live audio rooms, received a complete rebuild with real-time audio and chat powered by MoQ (Media over QUIC). The Shop marketplace (NIP-99) was overhauled for listing and browsing goods. We also added a topic system with NIP-73 hashtags and a discover page, muted words filtering across all feeds, radio station management with editing and NIP-09 deletion, an in-app supported NIPs/NUTs/BUDs viewer with embedded spec markdown, emoji pack previews, citation viewing for kinds 30–33, and podcast NIP-F4 support alongside the legacy scheme.
On the AI side, 0.8.20 introduces Routstr as a new AI chat provider, a pay-per-prompt service that accepts both Lightning and Cashu payments, so you can chat with AI models using sats or ecash. Like Mostro, Routstr is also still in early development and not ready for production use.
Rounding out this release: Profile loading is significantly faster this release, with metadata streaming in from multiple sources, the local database, user relays, and the indexer network, simultaneously instead of waiting on a single fetch to complete. Voice messages now play back on desktop and Android, image uploads use format-specific compression with configurable size limits, unified NIP-78 preference blobs sync your settings across devices, publications gained NKBIP-01 section references, and we've fixed relay coverage races, URL normalization, WASM timer panics, Android Google sign-in and multi-account issues, and mention dropdown positioning, plus much more.

nostr.blue 0.8.17 is now live on the web and zapstore!
The biggest change is a complete overhaul of the Topics system. We've migrated from hashtag-based topic posts to NIP-73 web URLs, bringing topics in line with the spec and making them interoperable across clients. Topic pages now load instantly from your local cache, then stream fresh content from relays in real time. You'll see a "Show N new posts" banner when new content arrives, similar to what you'd expect from a modern feed.
You can now see who someone follows and who follows them with the new Followers/Following modal. It shows profile pictures, display names, and a follow/unfollow button for each user with paginated loading.
Live chat for streams and nests is now relay-aware — it connects directly to the relays specified in the NIP-53 event so chat messages actually reach the right audience.
Plus a huge number of bug fixes covering feed pagination, notification lifecycle, wallet security, invoice parsing, and crash resilience across the app.

nostr.blue 0.8.16 is now live on the web and zapstore!
This release brings two major new features alongside a significant wallet upgrade and a host of reliability improvements.
The first big addition is a Quran Reader, powered by the generous free API at https://alquran.cloud/api. You can browse all 114 surahs with Meccan, Medinan, and Juz tabs, read Arabic alongside your choice of translation in a split view, and listen to verse-by-verse audio from multiple reciters integrated right into the music player. Surahs can be downloaded for offline reading (IndexedDB on web, SQLite on desktop). You can highlight ayahs using NIP-84 and share them as notes, or select passages and ask AI about them. There's also full-text search across cached surahs.
The second is Places — an interactive Leaflet map that queries Nostr for kind 37515 place events using geohash prefixes, cross-references them with BTCmap for bitcoin-accepting merchants, and enriches listings with OpenStreetMap data. You get amenity filtering (restaurants, cafes, pharmacies, etc.), distance sorting, opening hours with live open/closed status, and reverse geocoding for location search. You can add new places right from the map with full GeoJSON support.
On the podcast side, V4V boosts now support multi-recipient splits with direct keysend payments. If you have a wallet connected via NWC, hitting boost pays every recipient their fair share — node pubkeys get keysend with bLIP-0010 TLV metadata, and lightning addresses get resolved automatically. The zap dialog shows per-recipient progress so you can see exactly who got paid.
The Cashu ecash wallet has been upgraded to CDK's new WalletRepository API, replacing the deprecated MultiMintWallet. This brings two-phase melt operations (prepare + confirm), IndexedDB persistence for sagas/proof reservations/KV store, crash-proof saga recovery, and offline token auto-redemption when you come back online. There's also new P2PK and P2BK locking support with configurable lock durations for sending locked ecash.
Behind the scenes, feed loading is lighter with reduced page sizes and memoized rich content parsing. Thread display uses BFS discovery with root-based streaming for more reliable replies. Pagination now detects 6-hour gaps to prevent skipping content, and future-dated events are filtered out across all viewers. Note card modals have been simplified to a single state machine, embedded notes now use the profile cache chain instead of hitting relays, and reposts include proper relay URL hints per NIP-18.

This release introduces a unified address routing system that changes how content is shared and discovered. Every Nostr event type — notes, articles, streams, polls, calendar events, wiki pages, code repos, and more — now resolves through a single /:naddr route instead of separate per-type URLs. Old-style links like /calendar/:naddr still work and automatically redirect, so nothing breaks. Alongside this, NIP-50 search has been completely overhauled with a query parser supporting operators like since:7d, kind:1, from:npub..., and #tag, with engagement-ranked results and saved history.
New features include NIP-29 group chat with full messaging, admin management, and sidebar integration; a /games section with NIP-64 chess; and a weather dashboard with geocoding, hourly/weekly forecasts, and a NIP-66 relay discovery explorer. NIP-70 protected events are also now supported for creating and viewing authorization-required content. We'd love to expand the games section — if you have a favorite Nostr-based game or game-related NIP, send it our way!
On the performance side, feeds now use virtualization for smoother scrolling, publishing is optimistic so posts appear instantly while relays confirm in the background, and reply loading is instant from local cache. Drafts now auto-save with debounced persistence, and radio and event streams have automatic retry logic. This release also fixes MPRIS lock contention on desktop, persists the media player bar across sessions, restores scroll position when navigating back, and fixes profile bios wrapping with clickable nostr links. The headline feature is our initial Nests support. You can create rooms, join the stage as a speaker or listen from the audience. The full room lifecycle should be there: real-time chat, reactions, a speaker queue, stage grid, and participant gallery. The audio engine is platform-specific with WebTransport on web, and native audio via moq-lite + cpal + opus on desktop. Android supports background audio with Picture-in-Picture so you can keep listening while using other apps.
On the fixes side, profile loading no longer shows stale data when switching between accounts, and the privacy policy has been updated with a Google User Data section for API compliance (plus it no longer 404s for bots).

nostr.blue 0.8.13 is now live on the web and zapstore!
The biggest addition in this release is Google Drive Cloud Backup. You can now back up your Nostr keys to Google Drive. Restore is supported across both web and Android, making it easy for new users to recover their identity or move between devices.
Navigation is smoother with centralized NIP-19 URL handling. Clicking any nostr: link (npub, note, naddr, nprofile, nevent) now properly resolves and routes to the right page with relay hints included for faster loading. Profile data is also prefetched during route resolution so profile pages load faster.
On the music side, there's a new RSS Artist page so you can browse full artist catalogs, plus fixes for RSS album auth state and track share URLs. Radio station discovery also got an upgrade with discovery via the WaveFunc relay.
A new Sign-In modal has been added across the app, so when you hit an auth-required feature while logged out, you can sign in right there without leaving the page.
The privacy policy has also been updated, and backward compatibility has been improved for older data formats.

nostr.blue 0.8.12 is now live on the web and zapstore!
This release brings a major round of performance improvements along with some exciting new features. The biggest addition is Relay Feeds, which lets you browse content from a specific relay or relay set. You can now select any of your favorite relays from the feed dropdown and see a real-time stream of notes from just that source. It's a great way to explore what different communities and relays have to offer.
Profiles also received a significant upgrade. You'll now see NIP-05 verification badges next to usernames, showing which identities have been cryptographically verified. The profile page also has a new Zaps tab so you can see all zaps received by a user, a retry button for profiles that fail to load, and much faster follower counts on mobile and desktop.
On the performance side, reply loading is now instant. When you open a note, cached replies from your local database appear immediately while relay responses stream in the background. Interaction counts (reactions, reposts, zaps) are also dramatically faster thanks to a new local database fast-path and batched relay fetching. Videos now display thumbnails across all platforms using blurhash decoding and canvas frame capture, and articles now render nostr URIs (npub, note, naddr) as interactive embeds right in the text.
This release also fixes detail pages failing with "too many relays" errors, improves post-login initialization timing, fixes RSS podcast and music image loading, and resolves several Android-specific issues including scroll-to-top and music player crashes.

This release brings identity verification and music discovery front and center. The biggest new feature is NIP-39 External Identity Verification. You can now display verified identity badges on your profile for GitHub, X/Twitter, Mastodon, and Telegram with links to your proof posts. Head to the profile editor to link your own accounts and let others know it's really you.
Another new addition is the V4V Music Chart. You can now browse the top-boosted tracks over the last 7 days, ranked by community support. It's a great way to discover new music that the nostr community is backing with zaps.
This release also includes a round of quality-of-life improvements and fixes. Copy Note is now available in the note context menu with native Android clipboard support. Embedded and quoted notes now render with rich content instead of plain text. The @ mention autocomplete has been fixed for mobile devices. The music player bar now opens the full-screen player on tap, and the expanded player no longer causes UI freezes on Android. We also fixed the NIP-55 signer throwing a false "mismatched package" error when signing events on Android.

nostr.blue 0.8.5 is now live on the web and Github
This release brought a few refactors and some completely new features. One of the biggest benefits of this version is the refactor of the home feed. Now when you navigate into a post and come back to the feed it should now help to restore your position instead of just reconstructing the feed from scratch. Note pages also received some love that should give them a more reliable loading experience.
Another new feature of this release is around the new AI Chat section. This version adds 15 tools that your AI can call within the chat to better enhance your nostr experience. See a post from an author that you don't yet follow but want to learn more about? Click on the note's menu and ask AI what they normally post about or maybe ask it to fact check their post.
Another big factor of this release is building out a version of the project that is acceptable for the Play Store. This will require removing the cashu wallet functionality for at least that build version. Originally the plan was to remove the functionality completely to keep all builds equal but now we're leaning to just creating a Play Store version that removes this kind of functionality while keeping it in others.
We've already started on 0.8.6 to build in a new wave of bug fixes. If there's any elements of the project that you'd like to see changed please share with us!

If you've used our cashu wallet please withdraw your funds to another wallet or transition from nostr.blue's implementation. We will be removing this functionality in our next major release to meet Google's Play Store requirements for individual publishers.

nostr.blue 0.8.3 is now available on Github and Zapstore!
This version adds a much better AI Chat experience with support for opening AI Chat directly from note menus and selected Bible verses to continue discussion with preloaded context. This let's you dig deeper in the topics you care about and ask AI things you might want to learn more about. We've also added support for multiple conversations that can be toggled by clicking the Sparkle icon on the AI Chat page.
Video discovery has been reorganized with a cleaner Videos home, separate sections for Featured Videos, Recent Verts, and Live Now, plus a dedicated Verts experience for vertical video browsing. Live stream discovery is improved, especially for followed creators, and the app now surfaces live content more clearly.
This release also improves PPQ account usability with Lightning top-up invoices that are easier to use via QR, copy, and open actions, and managed PPQ keys fit more smoothly into chat setup.

nostr.blue 0.8.2 is now available on Github and Zapstore!
This update brings a range of new features and bug fixes to nostr.blue including integration of @nprofile…2q7p in our AI chat page. This still allows you to use your own OpenAI compatible API or simply shoot some sats over to PPQ for immediate AI access. This should give everyone on the site pretty easy access to a wide catalog of AI providers.
We've also added Zap Goals to the site. You can now browse active zap goals, track progress and contribute directly through the app. This includes a new donation page for nostr.blue for anyone that wants to help support development.
It also introduces relay detail pages, making it easier to inspect relay metadata and get a better sense of what a relay supports. On top of that, this update also brings added support for NIP-89 client tags for better tracking on usage of the app. This can be disabled in settings to control if you want them included on your published events.
There are a lot of other bug fixes and follow-up improvements throughout this release also. As always, if you run into bugs or have ideas for improvements, please send them over. A lot of what gets fixed comes directly from user feedback!
