Disappointed in the contents of the crypto reserve.
Mainly because I wouldn't spend my own money on shitcoins so it makes me mad that tax payer dollars are wasted.
Then I remembered that all tax spending is government redistribution on things the free market would not fund otherwise.
Shitcoins are better than the USAID grifts and war funding I suppose.

If Vitalek rolls back the chain with a fork it's arguably worse. Anyone with a brain should be running for the exits.

I just installed Win 11 on a new computer. I've been living in linux land for about 7 years, only on windows to play games.
OMG Microsoft is invasive. They make it almost impossible to save files locally, everything is pushed into OneDrive.
Copying files between windows computers on the local LAN took *forever* on brand new modern hardware. Ridiculous.
I'm wondering how they're still in business, let alone having the #1 market share OS.

"legal tender" is a hammer where the government makes it a legal requirement to accept a currency for contract settlement, or for goods and services.
Fiat requires "legal tender" designation because it is worthless paper.
Bitcoin does not need "legal tender" because it is "real money" and in a free society people should be free to accept it or not. If bitcoin is a better money, people will prefer it, or suffer.
Eventually people will only accept fiat when they are forced to because of legal tender laws. They will preferentially trade for hard assets or barter or "favors".
At some point, they will choose to not comply and refuse transacting in fiat. At that point the currency gets reset. This has happened 4 or 5 times in past 50 years in Argentina for instance.

Generally insurance is one of the biggest scams. They happily take your money for *years* with the promise of help in the future. when something terrible happens, they find any excuse they can to no pay out. If they have to pay, they drop you or raise your rates going forward.
Any industry servicing sectors traditionally supported by insurance (medical, auto body repair, roofing) "price in" this subsidy so consumers don't price shop (its the insurance company's money) so prices are stupid and rise faster than inflation. This drives insurance premiums up faster than everything else.
Insurance company profits shouldn't be much higher than "pure interest " since the business model is about extracting the time value of money. But they are typically some of the most profitable companies around.
This excess profit is a burden on the productive economy. This is exacerbated by government mandates forcing consumers to have coverage which turns competition on its head making insurance companies try not to be the worst, instead of trying to be the best.

it is my opinion that we have another year of #bitcoin price appreciation. However, my 72 yr old mother in law asked me to help her buy some #btc. I pointed out to her to be careful because mother in laws asking about bitcoin is a literal top indicator.
I set her up on Strike but she had issues getting the bank usd transfer to work.
I sent her some sats to show how easy and fast it is.
Then I told her to measure her net worth in sats and be glad she's off zero.

I 'm actually super frustrated with copy/paste in "mixed" environments (ie. PuTTy on Windows logging into linux and running terminals via tmux).
I know deep in my soul that Microsoft has to be the source of the incompatibility, but ctrl-C/ctrl-V works *everywhere* in windows, but copy/paste in linux has the myriad of Xterm/TTY/tiling window manager conflicts that need to be juggled and configured to work properly.
At least when accessing a remote terminal using PuTTy or often even a VNC client.
