Yes, I'd totally take a walk in the part and have a nice chat with you if we ever met up in person!

Traveled to Chicago this past week and one of my favorite parts was swinging by Atlas Stationers and buying myself a hot pink Esterbrook Funky Town pen. Love! #fountainpen

Toronto is super doable for me! And even though I've been to Canada a bunch of times, I've never been to Toronto!

This was such a good read, Sara! I don't think it was oversharing, it was heartfelt and honest and I really enjoyed it. Thank you for writing it and putting it out there for the world to see 💜

I wish I had one but it’s probably somewhere at my mom’s house. It was pretty epic.

I got the laser background for my 3rd grade school picture in 1989 and it’s definitely a relic from the 80s. Side ponytail! Oversized black T-shirt with neon splatters! I think I was wearing multiple scrunchies, too.

Currently spending my afternoon drinking tea, knitting the sleeves of my sweater, and updating my pen and ink collection on Fountain Pen Companion. Oh, and I cleaned a pen, too!

I'm really not excited in the direction Drupal is going with AI after being in the Drupal community for awhile. It's pretty disappointing.

Answering my questions about web-based cover letters and resumes has helped a lot, so thank you!
I do think being in this industry for 19 years and having very little React experience is what’s making it hard too, but I’m working on making that better.

This is totally what I want to do too and have done this a lot in the past to get jobs, but I haven’t gotten anywhere this time when I’ve emailed my resume to people. Finding a job now has been way harder than it’s ever been in my 19 year career!

I totally want to automate all the things too, even just between LinkedIn and my resume. I never remember to update LinkedIn (and let me tell you, I don’t like that I’m having to use LinkedIn to look for jobs…)

How did this work? In all the jobs I’ve applied for, the cover letter field is a file upload, and they expect a text file or a Word doc or a PDF. Same with resumes, so I’m not sure how web-based cover letters and resumes fit in to this!
I know people have gotten jobs with web-based resumes before so they work somehow, but I can’t see how with my experience the last couple months.

I actually didn’t know people did them in Canva either!
I’ve been curious about web-based resumes, if you’re applying to jobs, do you just somehow convert it to a PDF? Mine’s in Google Docs and I save it as a PDF, then upload. Same with my cover letters.

I was taking a look at that and wasn’t sure if it supported any sort of speaker view so I could see my notes while presenting.
Either way, definitely want to go back to using straight up HTML for my slides!

What do you do to make your slides accessible? I need to do this with mine and move them all off Google Slides.

I did so much research on this contrast-color function this past week, and I'm so glad my research was correct after reading this excellent post yesterday!
I did research on what's coming for this function in CSS Color Module Level 6 too, which isn't ironed out yet but will be cool if/when it's implemented: https://drafts.csswg.org/css-color-6/#colorcontrast

First night of sleeping with my phone across the room—success! I got more of my book read before I went to sleep last night, too, so I'm definitely continuing this.

2025-01-09 22:42:28 GMT

Tonight I’m going to move my phone across the room so I don’t check it in the middle of the night and keep myself awake. I don’t know why this feels so hard, but that’s the reason why I need to do it.
